Celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities
All students are provided awareness and are shared following pieces of information about World Disability day. The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed every year on December 3, to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development. The theme of 2018 for this day is “Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality”. It focuses on empowering persons with disabilities for an inclusive, equitable and sustainable development as a part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) pledges to “leave no one behind”. The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was instituted by United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) after it had passed a resolution 47/3 in 1992. Since then it is observed annually and originally and is called as International Day of Disabled Persons. UN estimates that around one billion people are living with disabilities across the world and they are facing barriers of inclusion in many key aspects of society. The objective of this day- It aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
Campaigning by Children with Special Needs in Community Outreach Programme
Campaigning by children with special needs for community outreach programme on 6th November 2019. Students with special needs campaigned on 6th November 2019 to sensitise and spread awareness among the community to prevent air pollution. They walked through streets carrying slogans and air purifiers ( plants). Along with Eco Club Unit and teachers, children spread the message to keep the air clean for the sake of good health of their children and themselves.
Mask distribution by Ministry of AYUSH and Rejoice Health Foundation
Ministry of AYUSH and Rejoice Health Foundation distributed masks to the children with special needs. This initiative was taken due to high level of air pollution. This was an effective step where students learnt the use of masks and also the prevention from air pollution. Ms Anita Sharma, Principal, SDPS received these masks from the team of Rejoice Health Foundation.
Sensitization and Awareness of Prevention of Air Pollution to Students with Special Needs by School Principal
Organised Workshop for Special Education Teacher of Directorate of Education and Sponsored by SCERT, Delhi on 21-25 October, 2019
Our School organised Five Days (21-25 October, 2019) workshop on Hands on Training in Cross Disability under the supervision of Inclusive Education Branch, Directorate of Education, Govt of NCT, Delhi and sponsored by SCERT, Delhi for Special Education Teachers of Govt Schools. 30 participated got the opportunity of this hands on training. About 18 trained and experienced professional delivered the practical and theoretical lectures/demonstration on the topic of Specific Learning Disability.
Organised Workshop for Special Education Teachers of Directorate of Education, Sponsored by SCERT, Delhi (3rd-7th September, 2019)
SDPS organised five days workshop on Hands-on Training in Cross-Disability under the supervision of Inclusive Education Branch, Directorate of Education, Government of NCT, Delhi which was sponsored by SCERT, Delhi for Special Education Teachers of Govt Schools. About 30 teachers participated and got the opportunity for this hands-on training. About 16 trained and experienced professional delivered the practical and theoretical lectures/demonstration on the topic Specific Learning Disability. Ms Anita Sharma, Principal, SDPS discussed the current scenario of schools Inclusive Practices. She also emphasized on our school inclusive environment. The last session was delivered by Dr S K Prasad, Dy. Chief Commissioner of Person With Disability, Govt of India, discussed the psycho-social aspects and better adjustment for a person with a disability in Inclusive Practices.

A national-level magazine (School-Live) published an article which stated S D Public School, Pitampura, Delhi to be an ideal inclusive model. This magazine also published articles on topics like -best school practices in India.
Special Scholarship for Meritorious Star Students
Special Scholarship of Rs.1000 each was given to meritorious students with special needs by our Principal Maam. These students got a tremendous change in their academic performance after this. Their achievements were highly appreciable parents and teachers too. Vibhushi-XII Prateek- V
Accessible for all and Barrier Free Environment
SDPS is accessible for all and has ramps and modified toilet for students with disability. Signage on floors, signage for utilities and all required places in the school premises. All activity periods are conducted on the ground floor with the availability of wheelchair, braille, aids and appliance, NVDA in Computer and Inclusive Unit Room.
Stars shining brightly in the Fashion Show!
Starts in Fashion Show— Inayat of grade LKG and Falak Chopra of grade 1 participated in National Level Fashion Show in Delhi. Many dignities also witnessed their lovely performance.
Value Education
The school supports to enhance values and discipline in students with special needs. It increases inner strengths and self-esteem among students. This also enhances their social and emotional skills. Many senior students are working as a volunteer for children with special needs during their outside activities
Our stars hold attention in 6th Inter School Skating Competition
Our students participated in 6th Open Inter School Roller Skating Championship 2018 in Nav Bharti School on 7th October 2018. Our students performed excellently and got a medal and Trophy. The team presented the trophy to S. D. Public School, Pitampura. UTSAH CENTRE is providing many services for educational, social and emotional development of children with Special Needs
Parent and Teacher Collaboration- A way to reduce parental anxiety towards home work and classwork.
All students with special needs are attached with Whats app and Uolo group to deliver daily routine school chores, home works, classwork and notice/circular etc. Coordinator, Class Teachers, Subject Teachers, Activity Teachers and Special Educator are the member of these type of groups which help to reduce parental anxiety and support to complete different class tasks.
